Houston Museum of Natural Science Shark Tank

The Houston Museum of Natural Science contracted with Synchro to serve as the General Contractor for a new 7,000-gallon custom poured in place concrete aquarium. The aquarium houses sharks and other sea-life and serves as the focal point of the “Sharks” The Meg, The Monsters, & The Myths exhibit. The project was completed within the basement level of the original 1960’s era building and required detailed planning and close coordination with the museum’s facility team to integrate the complex water filtration and plumbing requirements of the aquarium. The construction zone required tight management as the surrounding areas in the museum remained open for active exhibits and summer programs.
